It freaks my friends out that I can run windows and mac programs simultaneously on the same computer and the windows programs are morphed into the Mac's friendly look and feel. I have complained to Parallels about this over several versions of the software, and they continue this customer unfriendly practice. They will claim it is to inform the user 'in case you decide to upgrade Windows to a certain version' or 'in case you decide to upgrade OS X to a certain version', but other companies manage to inform users of these things in a non-intrusive and non-marketing way such as emailing the user or displaying a warning of incompatibility when you actually try to upgrade Windows or Mac. For this reason, I will be moving to VMware Fusion or Oracle VirtualBox and suggest either of these as an alternative to Parallels, which seems intent on extracting as much money as possible from their paying customers.
