I'm running a DVI output (through a VGA conversion) from my 15' PowerBook G4 to a 46' SONY Bravia KDL46XBR2. I've got display mirroring on the PB, so that I'm getting able to get its output to the TV. The problem is that it doesn't do a 'fullscreen' on the TV; note the black area all around the TV's output: Now, I've got the maximum resolution possible for the output to the TV, 1920x1080, which should match the 1080p resolution of the TV: So I'm not sure what's going on here. The SONY's normal image adjust features, such as zoom onto display area, are not available for the PC output (they are available for TV channels or DVD movies, etc., but not for PC output). I'm guessing the fix will come from some fiddling with OS X settings.
Jun 25, 2010 The Sony Bravia is blank and black. The MacBook Pro does not appear to recognize the Sony Bravia; when I go to System Settings. Display there is no tab for mirroring. The BRAVIA Sync function on this TV communicates with other Sony equipment supporting the Control for HDMI function. To connect Sony equipment with Control for HDMI Use an HDMI cable that bears the HDMI logo for connection. See the HDMI connection shown in the Quick Setup Guide provided with the TV.
